About Me

Hey there! I'm glad you're here, so grab a cup of coffee and stay a while! This is me, and this is the life the Lord has blessed me with.

About six years ago I decided to check out what the South was all about. So I came to school down here in Virginia. Alright, people from the deep South might not consider Virginia Southern, but they drink sweet tea and say Y'all here, so as far as I'm concerned, this is the South.

In high school, I got a scholarship to play lacrosse at the most AMAZING school called James Madison University...and I did pretty well for myself. I met a lot of amazing people in college who helped along the way. And, I fell in love. {Insert Sighhh here} No, not that kind of love...yet. I fell in love with Jesus and watched him transform my life in to what it is today. Even better, huh? Then I fell in love with a boy. {Now you can Sighhhh}

Soak it up while you can ladies, 'cause he's taken! Meet my handsome, caring and funny boyfriend, David.

David played baseball for JMU. We were a pretty cute pair if you ask me :) At first I was wondering who the goofy kid following me around on the baseball team was. Little did I know, I would fall head over heals in love with the same goofy kid months later.

It worked out great dating another athlete, he understood better than anyone what long bus trips meant, that we both had limited time to hang out, and knew what lift I should do if I wanted bigger traps. Just kidding on that last one. Dating in college was hard, we went through our ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade any moment for the world. We continued to grow together in the Lord through college and are still going strong today!

I graduated college and tried to figure out this thing they called the real world. I spent the first year wondering who let me graduate and how to act like a grown-up. Actually, I'm still figuring that second part out. I moved up to the suburbs of DC and still live here today.

As for David...

The most amazing thing happened. He got drafted by the White Sox! So, my life now consists of working a job in the advertising field and doing the long-distance thing with David while he is playing baseball all over the country. If I'm lucky, I get to see him once or twice in-season. It's definitely a journey for both of us, and brings on a whole new set of challenges, but nothing we can't handle with some help from the man upstairs.

That cup of coffee is probably cold by now, if you even made it this far. I would love to hear from you as well as any feedback or tips to make this blog better! Thanks again for any time you spend on this cyber-space of mine. I truly hope you enjoy!

I stumbled on your blog and it's super cute! And as a southerner, I'm always happy to hear when people love sweet tea and the south. I think it's pretty fab!! :) I'm also living in the DC suburbs and people tell me ALL the time how southern I am.

I just stumbled upon this blog from From My Grey Desk ... I read your 'About Me' and had to comment since I am a JMU student! I am in a 5-year undergrad/masters program and am completing my masters in May. Can't imagine what life will be like without Madison.

Go Dukes! :)

Erin! That's awesome! Love me some duke dogs :) I go back all of the time for lacrosse games. Life is sad without Madison, but there is life after JMU, promise :) Good luck in your last semester!

I like it here already. :)

And geographically speaking...I am definitely in the south: Miami. ;) But, we also definitely don't say things like ya'll...it's more like "yo" and "hola". Haha.

Can't wait to take a peek around here. Found you from Steph at Steph's Sweet Life. (Thanks to the Coffee mug swap.)

Haha!! I just found your blog today. And I have to say one thing: I understand about not seeing your boy for long periods. My husband is currently a deployed sailor, and we haven't seen each other for almost 6 months. So I get it!!! Hang in there!
